Sooo happy with this escape hatch! The cover looks amazing and the plot sounds great. I’ll be pre-ordering the signed copy tonight. Thanks for everything. You brought light to a dark week. 🙏
Congrats! The title “King Sorrow” has fascinated me since you first announced it; I wondered what the premise would be, and today’s reveal did not disappoint. I’ve pre-ordered my copy.
I remember years ago, when NOS4A2 had just come out, and my (then)wife and I got to meet you at a wonderful bookshop in Naperville, IL. It's still the only book signing I've ever had a chance to go to, but I'll remember how great meeting you was. I was a big Dr. Who fan, and my wife was just getting into the series, and she asked who your favorite doctor was, and you were so wonderful chatting with her. I've always told people, you were so friendly, it almost felt like we could have gone across the street to Starbucks and talked all night about favorite episodes. We're on the west coast now, near San Diego, my wife and I are divorced(but still great friends)and I came out as Trans a few months back, so this will be my first Joe Hill book, I read as the new me. Hopefully if you do a book tour, you'll swing out this way, but if not-thank you for all the wonderful reading-and the night you made my wife and I feel special.
Staff at Water Street are amazing- and thank you for coordinating with them to do these signed pre-orders. Placed my order (one for me and one for my brother), thanks Joe!!!
I think about (and still talk about) The Good Place all the time. The way Schur wove in philosophy and exploration of ethics into a comedy was amazing, funny and sometimes heartbreaking. The performances were top notch and perfectly cast. Even 'small' roles like Mike O'Malley's frog-loving doorman, Tiya Sircar's sweetly scheming Vicky and Marc Evan Jackson's dry demon, Shawn all punched so far above expectations. The trolley experiment brought to gory life, the shrimp gags, it all worked so well.
My wife and I do an annual rewatch of The Americans starting in the late fall/ early winter. During it we like to do at least one walk around town wearing fancy coats and telling each other that The Center has concerns about recent decisions.
EXCITING news, congrats on the upcoming release! Any chance you know of any fancy editions of King Sorrow coming out? While I'm not totally opposed to getting two versions, I have been trying to get (extra) nice versions of certain author's books these days.
And while I'm being so demanding, any chance of a book tour bringing you to the Bay Area this year?
“Things seem pretty dark and bleak in the wider world; I guess the best anyone can hope for is peaceful, quiet domestic happiness. If you’ve got that, you can’t ask for much more.”
Looking forward to reading King Sorrow. Sounds great. Hope you make it to the UK with the tour 👍🏼
Slow Horses is the best show on TV just now and Oldman’s performance as Jackson Lamb is a work of genius. Fifth season is already filmed and out some time this year.

Bay Area is definitely in the mix when we talk about the tour.
How about Syracuse?
Fantastic news....next you'll tell me that us subscribers will get special access to tickets or something : )
This'll be interesting to see compared to your Dad's "The Eyes of the Dragon," the first King book I ever read that made me a lifelong fan.

Too true.
Hoping for a tour stop in Phoenix! Looking forward to "King Sorrow" and love the cover!

I binged watched The Sopranos last year. I didn’t watch when it first came out. I loved it.
It sure was hard to find a handle that someone had not already used! Finally resorted to my Dad’s first and middle name!😂😂
